THE LUCA CARABELLO FUND
_
Valued Community Member:
We come to you today asking for your support and generosity in helping a valuable and beloved member of the community.
On Friday, March 2, 2012 Rangeview High School teacher and Coach, Zeb Carabello, and his family welcomed into the world their second child, Luca Daniel Carabello. Luca was born with a bilateral cleft lip/cleft palate, an uncommon condition that strikes roughly 1-in-700 children. This has caused an overwhelming financial burden on the family.
Over the course of his childhood Luca will endure 16 surgeries, countless medical requirements, and require special care. The financial burden placed upon the family would be a challenge for even the wealthiest of families; therefore, the staff of Rangeview High School has started the Luca Carabello Fund and will celebrate Luca Night on May 19, 2012 to raise money for the Carabellos. Luca Night will be a fundraising evening in which guests are treated to games, raffles, food, drink, and fun in exchange for a $50 donation.
Zeb is an invaluable member of Rangeview High School. He is a beloved English teacher, basketball coach, and mentor to countless members in our community. In an ironic, but probably blessed twist of fate, Zeb also was born with the same condition and is proof of how a child can thrive despite the challenges associated with the condition. He has worked tirelessly over the past seven years raising nearly $100,000 for Denver Children’s Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic. It is only fitting that others should step up and help the Carabellos in their time of need.
In order for us to reach our goals we are looking for two types of donations. The first is simply money to be given to Luca to help cover a portion of his surgeries and care. The second donation would involve items needed for Luca Night such as food, drinks, merchandise, gift certificates, and anything else that could benefit the Carabellos.
Thank you for your time and thought. Please consider helping these wonderful people who have done so much to give to other children and now need help of their own.
Thank you,
Jon Sobolewski
